The Colors Exercise
A Gift to You and Yours
Do you know your Colors? That is, do you know your “go-to” behavioral styles and your ways of making sense of the world—which also impact the ways you tend to speak and interact with others?
Others already know how you tend to lead and interact with those around you—why not know that about yourself too?
The first step is to complete the Understanding Yourself and Others Personality Profile (otherwise known as the Colors Exercise). It is a simple pencil and paper instrument. Contact the Pastor or Business Manager Laura Bowen to get your copy.
As we all know, relational health and awareness are at the heart of a healthy home and congregation.
The interpretation of the Colors Exercise leads to a growing self-awareness regarding one’s behavioral style. The feedback session is both insightful and humorous. If all goes well, you will be able to laugh at yourself and learn more about how we each see the world as either a Red—with a desire for action; or a Green—with a desire for order; or a Yellow—with a desire for relating with people; or a Blue with a desire for creativity and contemplation.
The “Colors Exercise” is a simple way to begin the process of first wishing for peace and then with God’s help to work for peace in our relationships at home and at Living Water. If you and those around you are experiencing peace it is not by accident—it is because people are working for it. These are the people we want to be!!
As the Bible tells us, “If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” (Romans 12:18)
